Our friends at Access to Justice BC (A2JBC) wrote and published a story about the Lab’s Youth Voices initiative. We are grateful for the shoutout and for the support!
Our funding from the Vancouver Foundation and Giving Well has carried the Lab through four wonderful years. We are so grateful for their support! While that funding has completed, we are continuing our efforts to advocate for human-centred design, for developmental evaluation and for genuine engagement of “users” in justice system change. We are seeking new sources of funding, especially for Youth Voices, and have forged an exciting potential partnership with the Society for Children and Youth of BC!
The Youth Voices initiative has lots of momentum, particularly from the members of the Youth Leadership Group. They are co-creating with us the prototypes that came out of the human-centred design process. The focus of activity has been on storytelling using a variety of creative means to encourage young people who have experienced parental separation to share their stories and express their views about their experiences. We are in the middle of creating a series of videos which showcase their stories both for the new digital platform and to raise awareness of the importance of seeking, hearing and honouring children’s views.
We thank you for your interest in the Lab. Stay tuned for more very soon!
