Do you want to help make the BC family justice system work better for families and children?

Family Justice Innovation Lab Society (FJIL), a BC registered society, is seeking people who are excited about this goal to join its Board of Directors.

We are committed to advancing access to justice for families, children and young people in BC. We seek to recruit a diverse Board that shares these commitments and represents the communities we serve. We encourage expressions of interest from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences, especially indigenous people, people with lived experience, young people, racialized people, queer people, people living with disabilities, and people of marginalized genders.

While we look forward to hearing from all who are interested, we are specifically seeking Board members with one or more the following areas of knowledge, background and experience that would benefit FJIL:

  • Adults and young people (18 years and older) with lived experience with the family justice system in BC
  • Expertise in family-serving sectors including healthcare, mental health / counselling, social work, law and education
  • Experience with fundraising, financial management and planning for not-for-profit organizations
  • Expertise and experience with innovation, human-centred design, and system change
  • Passion for incorporating the views of children and youth in decisions that affect them

If you would like to be considered for a position on FJIL’s Board of Directors, please send your resume and a short cover letter to kari@bcfjil.ca (Kari D. Boyle – FJIL Coordinator) by September 30, 2024.  Applicants of interest will be contacted for an interview. We hope to invite the successful candidates to join the Board of Directors at the 2024 Annual General Meeting in early November 2024.
